Grilled Kielbassi and Cabbage

  • 1 pound fully cooked Our Father Elwood's Recipe Kielbassi
  • 3 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • Bratwurst buns, split , if desired
Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat.  Place kielbassi in an 8-inch square aluminum foil pan.  Mix coleslaw mix, bell pepper, celery seed, salt and pepper.  Mound cabbage mixture in center of sausage.  Dot with butter; sprinkle with water.  Cover with aluminum foil, sealing edges securely.  Cover and grill pan 4 to 6 inches from medium heat 15 to 20 minutes or until coleslaw mixture is crisp-tender and sausage is hot.
Cut kielbassi into 4 pieces.  Serve with coleslaw mixture on buns.
