Our Mother Rosella’s Easy Kolbassi and Sauerkraut

  • 2 lb. Smoked Kolbassi cut in 3 inch pieces
  • 1 Qt. Fresh Sauerkraut
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 apple, cored, skinned and sliced
Place 1/2 of the sauerkraut in a roasting pan. Top with smoked kolbassi and apples. Cover with remaining sauerkraut. Sprinkle brown sugar over all and add water or wine. Give it a quick toss to mix ingredients. Cover and bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours.

Or better yet, place all of the ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours, even better!
