Fish Tacos with Gulf of Maine Hake

Favorites from Foley Fish
  • 1 Gulf of Maine Hake Fillet (about 1 ½ lbs)
  • Mexican seasoning
  • Flour or Corn Tortillas
  • Chopped Lettuce
  • Shredded Jack Cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro

For the baja sauce combine sour cream, mayonnaise, jalapeno pepper, lime juice and cilantro and refrigerate.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Place hake fillet on baking sheet lined with foil.  Brush hake fillet with canola oil and then dust with Mexican seasoning.  Bake for 12 minutes.  When hake is finished, remove from oven and break fish apart with forks.  Add hake to tortillas, top with baja sauce, cheese and shredded lettuce and serve. Serves about 6-8.
