Picking Food

Catering for a child’s party is difficult as children are known to be picky eaters so it can be hard to make sure you have food that every guest will enjoy. The best and cheapest way to provide for all the guests is to go with a buffet. If you choose to get lots of finger foods like crisps, sandwiches, cold pizza, and other snack foods then the kids will be delighted with all the choices and it’s nice and easy for you.

Timing

Timing is really important when it comes to planning your child’s birthday party. If your child’s birthday is close to a major holiday like Christmas or easter then you’ll have to take this into account. Many families will be busy at this time of year as it is family time, so you might want to consider hosting your child’s party before or after their birthday to ensure that most of the guests can make it. Time of the day is also important, if your child is young then having a party in the late afternoon could be a big mistake as the guests may be tired and begin to misbehave.

Themes

Picking a theme for your child’s party is a great way to make it exciting and memorable. You can use your theme for every aspect of the party from the invitations that your child hands out in school to the dress code, the cake, and the fun activities and games that you’ll have planned. You should pick a theme that is personal to your child that you know they will enjoy, many kids enjoy a variety of themes from Fortnite to princesses, so find out what your child’s favorite thing is at the time and base it around that. If you think it doesn’t look great then remember that kids are much more imaginative than adults so whatever you do they’ll love it.

Keep it Short

Supervising a children’s party can be exhausting and after a few hours, it will be much harder to keep the children entertained. You should plan a short party, have some activities planned, the cutting of the cake and some additional fun and games. This generally takes a few hours so make sure you specify a time on the invitations for parents to come and pick up their children.
